In a recent shooting glove competition by maritime law enforcement organization 14USC89.com, Wiley X® had two of its top tactical gloves take the upper hand in a punishing series of tests during a week-long advanced weapons course and CQB instructor course at U.S. Training Center. Both the Wiley X Combat Assault Glove™ (CAG-1™) and the Wiley X Aries™ Glove were pitted against stiff competition from glove brands like Oakley, Under Armor and Mechanix, yet received the highest marks of all.

This was a grueling user field test for maritime operation applications, and each set of gloves received equal range time and testing with 5000 rounds each of pistol, rifle and shotgun. The gloves were also assessed for the primary performance attributes of user ease and comfort, with particular focus on the ability to provide solid grip and comfortable feel, along with the ability to change magazines, draw handcuffs, or other tools without losing the sense of feel.

The Army Combat Glove Authorized Products List (ACGAPL) approved Wiley X CAG-1, made of treated goatskin leather and with an injection molded knuckle protector, has a 100% Kevlar weave from fingers to wrist and is flame and abrasion resistant. “This glove blew everyone away. The question is, what does it NOT have,” quipped the reviewer at 14USC89.com. “These gloves held up extraordinarily during shooting and even allowed for ease of use during reloading. It fits perfectly and even molds itself to the shape of your hand. The wrist strap allows for the perfect fit.”

Farley for the position of Consultant — Government Sales.  In his new role, CSM (Ret) Farley will leverage his more than 30 years of military expertise to further expand the renowned Wiley X brand of high performance eyewear and gloves in
tactical markets.

CSM (Ret) Farley brings the wide range of capabilities garnered during his long, highly decorated and successful military career to the new role with Wiley X, having served his country since 1977, when he completed his Military Police OSUT at Fort McClellan, Alabama.  He went on to serve in a wide range of leadership roles from Team Leader, Platoon Sergeant and First Sergeant Course Instructor, to his most recent post in 2006 as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the United States European Command.  His career has spanned the globe, and his service has been rewarded with awards including Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Medal, among many others.

CSM (Ret) Farley’s military and civilian education includes Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, U.S. Army Sergeant Major Academy, the Keystone Course, Small Group Instructor Training Course, Air Assault School, Jumpmaster School and Ranger School, along with a Bachelor of Science degree achieved Summa Cum Laude in Criminal Justice Administration: Law Enforcement.
