ADAPTIVE TRAINING FOUNDATION
In January 2014, former NFL linebacker David Vobora met U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills—a quadruple amputee—and invited him into his personal gym. Their adaptive workouts quickly evolved into a mission to redefine recovery, resilience, and human potential.
Through his work with Travis and other veterans, David saw a crucial gap between rehab and adaptive sport. That insight led to the creation of the Adaptive Training Foundation (ATF)—a nonprofit offering high-impact, performance-based training to individuals with life-altering injuries, always free of charge.
ATF helps athletes rebuild strength, rediscover purpose, and push beyond perceived limits. At Wiley X, we’re proud to support this mission by providing elite protective eyewear to the ATF Tribe, helping them train with clarity, confidence, and courage.
“A big thank you to our friends at Wiley X for their incredible generosity. Your donation of top-tier protective eyewear equips the ATF Tribe with the gear they need to train with confidence and push beyond limits. With your support, the Adaptive Training Foundation continues to empower and transform lives, proving that resilience and determination know no bounds. Together, we're redefining what's possible.”
— David Vobora, Adaptive Training Foundation Founder & CEO
ATF proves that movement is medicine—and with community, courage, and commitment, anything is possible.
The Adaptive Training Foundation (ATF) empowers individuals with life-altering injuries through free, performance-based adaptive training. By bridging the gap between rehabilitation and independent living, ATF helps veterans and civilians rebuild strength, confidence, and purpose. Through physical training, mental conditioning, and a powerful support community, ATF transforms recovery into a path of resilience, identity, and long-term growth.
