Anson joined the Marines right out of high school in 2005. In 2007, while leading an EOD security convoy in Iraq, his truck was hit by a massive IED. He escaped the burning wreckage under enemy fire with burns over 30% of his body and the loss of most of his fingers.
After medically retiring in 2009, he earned a history degree from Ohio State and embraced his scars and the nickname "Nubs." Today, he shares his story to inspire others to adapt, overcome, and keep pushing forward.
